(The Mears moved the Post Office to the village green just before the First World War and it became known as Hunt’s when Beatrice Mears married Percy Hunt in 1920.The shop was greatly loved. Percy Hunt’s legendary car can be seen in the photograph. The shop closed in the 1970s)

This was Nurse Gooding’s House (demolished in 1960’s to make way for St. Andrew’s Close). She and her husband also sold petrol there.
