Steam roller at the junction of main road to High Ham by turning to Wearne
Left to right: Will Sherrin, unknown, unknown, unknown, unknown, Jack Cox, Jim Hill (with horse). Probably just before First World War. Both Will and Jim went to the First World War (and returned safely, Will went farming after the War). Stones were from Long Sutton quarry probably. Couple of chaps would sit on the side of the road cracking stones, after they’d cracked them they’d ‘yard them up’, the got paid per yard.
